Brief:
For this module I originally wanted to create a couple of models and have the majority of the brief filled with animation work. However, once I began modelling images for the scene I decided that I really do not want to be a modeller in the industry and have decided to focus this module entirely on Animation. So this new brief has a few adjustments!
For this module I originally wanted to create a couple of models and have the majority of the brief filled with animation work. However, once I began modelling images for the scene I decided that I really do not want to be a modeller in the industry and have decided to focus this module entirely on Animation. So this new brief has a few adjustments!
For this module I want to demonstrate my animation skills and in turn learn some new techniques and strengthening my understanding. For this I am going to do some basic demonstrations of animation principles from concept to final creation. These will involve a push and pull animation, a walk cycle, a lip syncing facial demonstration and 1 or 2 brief shorts. I researched into some animation show reels and these are the running theme in most of them!
I will be doing all of my animation using Maya 2012 (Autodesk), Photoshop (Adobe) and after effects (for rendering purposes). This project will adhere to all university rules and regulations.
Action Plan – What do I need to achieve?
· Find strong references from TV, Film and other media
· Research show reels to find any strong examples as a guideline
· Read some animation books to grasp a better understanding
· Use books to study anatomy and muscle groups (Grey’s anatomy)
· Create some small concept diagrams with some basic timings for the shorts
· Create block outs
· Find relevant speech clips to use for lip synching/facial demonstration
· Plan and Set interesting camera angles for scenes to become the most effective
· Create final renders in after effects
· Put together into a show reel
